Lizard Ridge is a fascinating afghan made from undulating stripes. Connie was taken with it, and once she started, she couldn't stop knitting the squares. They make a great take-along project. This project will show you how to make short rows--and Connie has great tricks to make the short rows look perfect on the front side of the afghan. This year's block of the month is going to be both spectacular and calming, all at the same time. We're going to work in batiks, mainly light-turquoise blues, with a bit of green and purple thrown in. We'll work over 7 months, making 7 different blocks, and you'll receive the fabrics and directions for the grouping of those blocks each month. You've been doing free-motion quilting, but you're curious about the new FMQ rulers you've been seeing. You're not quite sure how to get started. No worries! Joan and Cynthia have teamed up to help you. You must already know how to do free-motion quilting to take this class. Price: $28 Supplies: You can buy the Slim and Archie rulers at the store, and you'll need to get those plus the foot for your particular machine ahead of time. You can get the more generic Westalee ruler foot, or you can check with your dealer to get a specific FMQ ruler foot. (The Bernina foot is a 72 foot.) Be sure you've ordered a foot and the rulers by the end of March so that you have them in time for the class. Machingers gloves are required. We collect t-shirts while traveling on vacation, celebrating at concerts, competing at sporting events, or just to share our personal interests. The natural lanolin in wool is wonderful for storing sewing needles. It keeps them smooth and shiny. To take advantage of this, Cindy will show you how to make a little needle book out of wool felt. You'll decorate it using needlefelting for the fun in addition to the practical! You need ZERO EXPERIENCE. Cindy will have ideas for you, or you can create your own. Price: $33. Supplies: Needlefelting kit (sponge and needles). The cost of the class includes the felt and the roving for the basic needle book. Optional: Favorite button(s) for closure, yarn for trim (should be at least 50% wool), small cookie cutters or stencils for shapes, circle template, scissors (with points) that can cut paper and/or cardstock. Tatting is a way to make small, delicate lace using a shuttle. Join Ruth and learn this classic craft. Soon, you'll be making wonderful little objects!
