Mystery Quilt
Each year we do a mystery
quilt beginning in January that takes 6 months. When you do a step a month, it
doesn’t seem like much, and in the end you have the most beautiful quilt! On
the 7th month, we meet to show off our finished objects; it’s so fun
to see all the colors! There is no sewing in the class, but Kim will give you
instructions so you can get going right away when you get home that night. We've already started, but you still have time to join us and catch up! Wednesdays, January 27,

Braided Tablerunner
This
tablerunner combines simple piecing with color and value gradations. When
you’re done, it creates the illusion of being braided. And best of all, this
tablerunner is quilt-as-you-go, so when you’re done, you’re really done! Thursdays,

Color and
Design Club
In this fun class, you’ll
complete a number of small exercises that will help you learn and understand
basic principles of color theory and design. You can use the small exercises as
starting points for larger projects or keep them as the start of a design
journal. Color and design are merely a skill, and Kim is going to show you how
to stop being a scaredy-cat!

Bag
Texture Magic is a wonderful
new product that we’re sure you are going to love. You stitch the fabric as you
like. Then take it to your ironing board and steam it. The steam causes the
interfacing to shrink and creates fabulous texture. Learn how to use it in this
great class and make this fun drawstring purse.

and Whack Fan Quilt
This intricate pattern
stacks fan blades for an Asian-influenced look with a modern feel. Lore chose
to do hers in a Kaffe Fassett fabric to make it even more interesting! Come see
her blocks to get a feel for what the possibilities are. It also works for a
scrappy quilt! The pattern comes complete with the 15-degree ruler.

Learning
free-motion quilting doesn’t have to be frustrating. If you take it
step-by-step, it can even be fun. Free motion is one of Kim’s favorite

Log Cabin Jar Lamp
Turn an
empty 2-quart canning jar into a lamp with a log-cabin quilt inside. This is an
interesting and unique project that is perfect for quilters and quilt lovers.
You’ll learn how to paper piece perfect 3 ½” log cabin blocks the first night
and how to finish the quilt and insert it in the jar the second night.

Learn
Sharon’s method for beautiful hand appliqué using templar and starch. You’ll
make a small wallhanging she designed of flowers and leaves in a bowl. But

“Now” Shirt
It’s
Spring Break in State College. The whole
town except you is gone. You’re off work. A project would be fun. You have a hankering for sewing
clothing, but it's a bit intimidating. If you've sewn one or two other simple
projects, you're ready for this shirt. It's easy construction, and the fit is

Kim loves adding hand
stitching to her projects. It’s a personal touch that adds wonderful texture to
your projects. Learn a free-flowing approach to hand embroidery and stitching.

Our
beginning quilting class gives you a taste of what it’s like to be a quilter!
We’ll do a very simple tablerunner, and give you a great start to learning

Rotary Cutting 101
Rotary cutting revolutionized quilting by
making it faster and easier than ever, but it can be tricky to learn. Rotary
cutters are extremely sharp, so learning safety is important. Learn about the
different types of cutters, rulers, and mats, and most of all, learn how to

basic rotary cutting, it’s time to advance your knowledge. You can use rotary
cutters to speed the cutting of different shapes. In this fun, fast-paced class

half-rectangles, 30°
diamonds, 60° diamonds,
parallelograms, equilateral triangles, full trapezoids, half-trapezoids, double

Sewing 101
The purpose of Sewing 101 is to get to know your sewing machine—how
to thread it, wind a bobbin, identify parts, learn what all those mysterious
buttons do, and how to make it go forward and backward. You’ll practice sewing
some simple stitches, and you'll leave with the ability to start sewing or quilting!

This is a fun,
strip-pieced pattern of spinning triangles. (Look at it behind our counter next time you come in!) It’s perfect to use with our Bali Pop
strip sets. Lore will teach you everything you need to make this throw,
including how to cut 60-degree angles, how to handle bias cuts, and choosing

X-Blocks
Clever trimming turns simple strip-pieced or nine-patch blocks
into a dynamic and interesting quilt using the X-blocks technique. Use your
