Claude Monet’s Nympheas (Water Lilies) takes up a 20-foot expanse at the Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh. Whenever she visits, Kim stands in awe reveling in the incredible color and value mastery of this Impressionist genius.
It’s almost impossible to describe the rich blending of colors that create this painting: lavenders, lilacs, periwinkles, blues, moss and apple greens. Lighter accents of yellows, rose, and even peach highlight the water lilies.
We’ll start with a
Hoffman Bali Pop in shades of lavender, green, and pale yellow and augment it
with peaches, pinks, and blues for the 12 blocks. These light-valued blocks will
sparkle like water lilies on the quilt top, which will have a rich pieced
sashing in blues and greens and purples.
You’ll want to sign
up early for this one; we have a limited number of Bali Pops available and once
they are gone, they are gone!
As a bonus, each
month you’ll learn a new 2 ½” strip block and Kim will show you many different
quilt and project designs for using that block!
